After-GAP Care

The German Australian Playschool (the GAP) operates Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30am to 2:30pm.
(From 2025 it will also be open Thursdays and Fridays.)

If you require childcare after GAP hours, the Spiel und Sprechen playgroup could be for you. The Spiel und Sprechen playgroup currently runs at the Turner Scout Hall on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. From 2025 Spiel und Sprechen playgroup will also run Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

If you are interested in joining the Spiel und Sprechen playgroup, and need a babysitter* to accompany your child, please email gap.director@spielwelt.org.au. We can get you in contact with German speaking babysitters* who are looking after your child while at the playgroup. Each babysitter* can look after up to 3 children, which reduces the costs for each family. Please talk to the babysitters* directly about their current fees.

*) Babysitters who take children to the Spiel und Sprechen playgroup are not eligible to offer the childcare subsidy.

As a Spielwelt member you can also join the Spiel und Sprechen playgroup and supervise your child yourself. There is a small fee of AUD 5 per week to pay to cover hall hire and craft supplies. (If you use one of our babysitters, those fees are usually included in their fees.)
